Infuse® Bone Graft Lawsuits

Our attorneys are investigating potential Infuse® Bone Graft lawsuits on behalf of patients who suffered complications after being implanted with the device. We are particularly interested in talking with patients who received a bone graft for off-label surgeries such as surgery of the cervical spine and neck.

Although the Infuse® Bone Graft was only approved for use in lumbar spine surgery, it has been alleged that Medtronic illegally promoted and marketed use of the device for off-label uses. The company has also been accused of withholding information about the dangerous risk associated with off-label use of the product.

To speak with one of our Infuse® Bone Graft attorneys about a possible lawsuit, please contact us today. An attorney will review your circumstances during a free case review to determine if you qualify to file a claim.

Dangerous Off-Label Use of Infuse® Bone Graft

Medtronic has been accused of promoting the off-label use of Infuse® Bone Grafts in order to sell more of these devices. The FDA approved the Infuse® Bone Graft for a few very specific and limited uses. While other spine surgery uses or off-label uses are not prohibited, they are not FDA-approved and may carry increased risks.

Complications that have been reported by patients who were treated for off-label uses include:

  • chronic pain in the legs or arms
  • nerve damage resulting in chronic pain
  • severe neck swelling resulting in permanent injury or death
  • sterility, retrograde ejaculation, and other urogenital injuries in male patients
  • uncontrolled bone growth at or near the surgical site

Bone Graft Lawsuits against Medtronic

An Infuse® Bone Graft lawsuit would seek fair compensation for the many losses and damages suffered by patients and their families, such as financial remuneration for:

  • medical treatment
  • medication (e.g., for chronic pain)
  • long-term nursing care
  • home health care and help
  • lost income
  • lost earning capacity
  • emotional suffering
  • in fatal cases, funeral costs, loss of an individual's contribution and more
